What is the purpose of going to church? Why should we attend church regularly? With all the modern technology and social media at our fingertips, we can technically (watch and listen) attend church in our own living rooms…. (right?)
The book of Hebrews shares that we shouldn’t forget and/or skip a meeting, fellow shipping with other brothers and sisters in Christ (Heb. 10:25). We need to attend church, Bible study groups, retreats and activities; so that we can encourage one another in prayer and words.
The purpose of going to church is to refuel your soul, learn more about following Christ and strengthen your relationship with God along with other believers (and not at home in your living room). The bond you’re making, the fellow shipping, the learning at church creates growing and refueling for the soul.
“You may worship God anywhere, at any time, but the chances are that you will not do so unless you have first learned to worship Him somewhere in some particular place, at some particular time.” ~Theodore Roosevelt
